The Family Story please read the story in its entirety.
This Gofundme is being created to help out my cousin & her family of 7 at a very tragic time in their life especially during the rapid approach of the holidays. Roxanne Diaz Goyco is a grieving wife & mother of 7 children 6 that live with her the youngest being 10 yrs old.
Many of you may know Roxanne & her tragic story but if you do not I am here to help tell her story so you can get to know her & why I'm asking you for your help.
Her tragedy begins at the young age of 7 yrs old when her father Pedro Diaz suddenly passed away. He was shot & killed mistakenly by local gang members while working as a handyman in a building. Leaving behind her mother Lydia Figueroa my aunt alone raising 3 kids. It was a struggle to raise her children but she did the best she could with what she had & tried very hard to make sure they would be okay. They were fine for a good 9yrs until at the tender age of 16yrs old when tragedy, unfortunately, hit Home again for Roxanne this time it's her mother who's life would tragically end one fateful night on Oct 30, 1993 Leaving 3 kids orphans & their now 6yr old baby sister without a mom.
Roxanne & her brothers went to live with my grandparents & her baby sister went to live with her dad separating the 4 siblings due to the lost. Roxanne & her brothers were with my grandparents 1yr when they were faced with yet another loss & another hardship when our grandfather dies of heatstroke & 4 months later my grandmother to heart complications. Roxanne & her brothers are now left with my uncle who by the way was suffering from a terminal illness himself.
Shortly after Roxanne starts dating her long-time friend for many years, Frank Robert Ruiz not long after they announced the arrival of their first child. Nov 7, 1996 Roxanne at age 19 gave birth to a beautiful baby boy who was named Frank Faith Ruiz.
Roxanne and Frank were absolutely on cloud 9 with the birth of baby Frankie. Unfortunately the unexpected was not too far away.
On Feb 17, 1996 when her son was a little over 3months old baby Frankie suddenly passes away from S.I.D.S. This untimely demise left both young parents crushed but they remained together & tried to comfort one another. A year & 1/2 later they were blessed with news of another child on the way. Diovannie Jay Ruiz was born on Feb 20th, 1998. He was diagnosed with Autism but that made him that much more unique & special DJ brought life & hope back into his family's world. Things were great life was good until that one fateful summer night on Aug 23, 1998 5months after the birth of their son Frank Robert Ruiz was shot & killed by local gang bangers in Humboldt park leaving Roxanne a single mother to a new baby. As the years passed she found a way to cope with life & her losses she also had 2 more children
Joshua & Ismael Gonzales's Life was starting to feel stable again. Roxanne then meets & starts dating Johnny Lebron in January of 2002 shortly after in March of 2002 Roxanne was involved in a horrible life-threatening car accident claiming one of her close childhood friends's & leaving Roxanne severely hurt.
She now suffers from later memory loss & Severe bone pain. After months of recovery from the accident Roxanne and Johnny welcome baby boy Johnny Lebron jr.
born on Dec 20, 2002. 2yrs later they welcome baby Antonio Lebron on March 19, 2004 following him a yr later is
Roxanne Lebron born on Aug 2, 2005.
Roxanne & Johnny had their struggle as young parents but they did what they can to make things work for them & the kids.
Unfortunate for them tragedy would hit again.
On Jan 8, 2008 Johnny & a friend walked into a liquor store where an incident occurred Leaving Johnny & his friend both Dead from being fatally shot & killed by local gang bangers. Leaving behind Roxanne their 6 children alone & devastated.
Roxanne faced serious depression & emotional distress from all years of loosing people she loved most.
Roxanne's long-time friend Rene helped her tremendously during this delicate time in her life helping her & the children ease the grief while getting through rough waters. Over a period of time later, they became even closer & began dating in Aug of 2008.
Roxanne & the kids picked up & left Humboldt park to move to Lockport with Rene.
April of 2009 Rene & Roxanne then welcome baby girl Rene Goyco. Rene loved Roxanne & his new family so much 1yr later he proposed then married Roxanne on Sep 23, 2010.
Rene was a bright light in the life of Roxanne & her children. Rene was the Father that the children needed & didn't have. Rene became the soulmate & companion that Roxanne longed for He was the ultimate sole support & provider of the family. Life is finally looking up for Roxanne & the children.
Rene, Roxanne & their blended family lived a normal everyday life with caring for their home & 7 children trying to make sure the kids have the most stable life possible.
For 9 1/2 yrs things are great like most families they did have their ups & downs with life struggles but they maintained & were okay. Nov2, 2019 life took a turn for the worst for Roxanne & the children. Rene Goyco fell unconscious on his bathroom floor having to seek emergency care. He was hospitalized for about a week where multiple tests were given to try & find out the reason for him passing out. Before being released from the hospital he was given the results of his test where he was diagnosed with cancer. Four days later he returns to the doctor where he receives more in-depth information about how serious his cancer was he then learns the horrible news that he is suffering from stage 4 pancreatic cancer that already traveled to his liver & was not curable at this stage.
Rene was then given the devastating news that he had about 3-6months to live.
1 week later Rene had an appointment to return back to the doctors so he can be placed on a port for chemotherapy, unfortunately for Rene, that wasn't the case as he was unresponsive that morning & immediately was placed in intensive care instead. Doctor's informed Rene & Roxanne that the cancer was rapidly traveling throughout his body.
The hospital was able to stabilize Rene to the point of being able to return back home with his family. Roxanne became his full-on hospice nurse & a short 8days later on Dec 5, 2019 Rene Goyco passed away in the comfort of his home with his wife & children all present.
Rene was the sole provider financially for their family his tragic & sudden death has left them financially & emotionally hurt & unstable any dollar amount you can donate is welcome.
The holidays are approaching soon & this family can use all the help love, support & prayers you can possibly give. Roxanne is unable to work due to her car accident but this gofundme will help her & the kids tremendously.
