Help a Grandfather Detained by ICE

Donation protected
I'm writing on behalf of a hardworking man in our community who was unlawfully detained by ICE while trimming trees in the ALDI parking lot in Santa Fe Springs/Whittier, CA. His sudden and unjust detention has left an entire family in crisis, and they urgently need our help.

He is a father of four, grandfather of five, and a deeply respected member of the community. Since coming to the United States in 2018, he has worked tirelessly as a landscaper to support his children and grandchildren, including some of his children who have lost spouses and rely on him not just for financial support, but for emotional stability and love.

He has no criminal record, does not drink, and is known for his faith in God. He calls his grandchildren every single day just to check in.

Out of fear of recent ICE activity, he stopped working for two weeks, but the pressure to provide for his family forced him to return to work. Shortly after returning to work and while simply doing his job in a public parking lot, he was detained without warning.

Since then, his family has confirmed that he was deported almost immediately and dropped in Tijuana with nothing but his phone and the belongings he had on him that day. He is now trying to find his way back to his hometown and start over from scratch in a country he hasn’t lived in for many years.

His detention is not just heartbreaking, but also unjust. His family is now left without their sole breadwinner, struggling to cover rent, food, and basic needs. They are also facing significant legal costs to secure his release.

100% of the funds raised will go directly to:
  • Financial support for his family during this crisis
  • Emergency needs like housing, food, and bills
  • Basic necessities as he resettles and finds stability in Mexico

This man is more than just a landscaper. He’s a father, grandfather, and spiritual pillar of his family. He’s someone who has shown up for his community, and now his community needs to show up for him.

Please consider donating, with no amount being too small, and help us spread the word. Together, we can stand up against injustice and help reunite this family.
