I’m reaching out today with a heartfelt request on behalf of a dear friend pictured above, Raghu Nair —someone I deeply respect—who is going through an incredibly difficult chapter in life.
Over the past four years, he has endured more than most of us can imagine. A painful divorce upended his personal life, and not long after, he suffered a heart attack that significantly impacted his health and stability. These back-to-back challenges would test anyone. Despite his resilience, they have led him to where he is today—unemployed and currently out on the streets in the Toronto area.
This is not a man who lacks capability or drive. He is highly educated, experienced as an IT professional whose expertise spans various technologies, and has spent decades building a life in Canada as a proud citizen. But sometimes, life’s setbacks come faster than one can recover from them.
Today, he survives on minimal state social assistance—barely enough to cover food, let alone secure safe shelter. Without stable housing and proper rest, it becomes nearly impossible to focus on recovery, both physically and emotionally, or to pursue meaningful employment.
Given his recent cardiac history, his current situation is especially concerning. Prolonged stress, living exposed to the elements, and uncertainty in life could take a serious toll on his health. Without timely support, there is a real risk of both emotional decline and worsening physical well-being.
What he needs right now is a chance—a small but critical window to regain stability.
Your support can help him:
- Secure temporary housing and a safe place to sleep
- Access basic necessities and maintain his health
- Regain the strength and clarity needed to continue his job search
This is about more than financial help—it’s about giving someone the dignity, stability, and hope needed to rebuild.
If you are able to contribute, no matter how small the amount, it will make a meaningful difference. And if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this message could help it reach someone who can.
Let’s come together to lift someone up when he needs it most. Your kindness could be the turning point that helps him get back on his feet.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
