Three years, two days and fourteen plus hours ago I began the process of healing . Three years, two days and fourteen plus hours of medical transphobia, of constant pain, of trauma from the attack I endured years ago that cost me a big piece of my life and my best friend .Three years, two days and fourteen plus hours and I am finally starting to feel whole. I am finally free to heal and be happy again.

 

I am at home now but just two days ago I had the biggest medical procedure I've ever had, a combination of facial reconstruction from being brutally assaulted with a weapon  and facial feminization surgery. I cannot begin to describe to you how I feel about all this, but I am certain I've never been happier. I finally get to not only heal the damage done to me, but I also get to finally see how beautiful I am in my own skin. I get to become the person I’ve always known I can be.

 

I was lucky in that my  state medical insurance will cover all my hospital expenses. I am endlessly grateful for that and will forever be thankful I got this beautiful opportunity.

What I cannot cover however is my recovery time. This surgery was very intense and requires me to be out of work for six solid weeks at minimum and to do that I need to call on everyone in my life to help create the time I need to heal.

 

All the funds I receive will be used to directly pay my bills and recovery costs and keep me housed, healthy and safe while I heal from this life saving and life changing surgery.

Today I ask you to please help in whatever way you can, and know that you are loved and appreciated for doing so.
