Hello! I’m Samantha Clark, and I love seeing how machines work.
I’m a high school senior, and I take college classes at a community college down the street. I currently have an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and a weighted GPA of 4.47. When I graduate high school, I’d love to attend either Cal Poly Pomona or Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, both of which have a Learn by Doing learning model, which is very important in the engineering field! If I don’t get into either Cal Poly, I’ve already been accepted to Cal State Fullerton.
I’d like to study Mechanical engineering, and my dream job is working somewhere like the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, where one of their most well-known projects is the Perseverance rover that is currently doing experiments on Mars. I know getting an engineering degree is difficult, but I’m up for the challenge!
I’d like to ask you for financial assistance for my college journey. Though going to college isn’t impossible, the cost of college is still a burden I don’t want to place too heavily on my parents, especially as they will be putting both my brother and I through college.
Tuition at Cal Poly Pomona is around $23,000 per academic year (including commuting, food, tuition, and books), and at Cal Poly SLO is around $35,000 per academic year (including housing, food, tuition, and books). At Cal State Fullerton, the tuition is around $25,000 per year (including commuting, food, tuition, and books).
I earned the rank of Eagle Scout on December 14, 2022, and something I learned through my Eagle Scout project was that when you ask more people for help, the work and financial burden get easier, and that you never know how many people are willing to help you out if you never ask. If possible, could you please consider helping me out financially? Any donation is appreciated!
Thank you!
Sam <3
