Help a German Expat Rebuild After California Wildfire
Donation protected
My dear friend and colleague of the past 10 years, Jenny, has been deeply affected by the recent California wildfires.
Jenny is hardworking and kind-hearted—someone who would never ask for help. In fact, for the past few weeks, many of us didn’t even realize she had been couch-surfing, living out of the two suitcases she was able to grab, and depleting her savings.
While her house is technically still standing, her entire neighborhood has been devastated. Due to health and safety restrictions, she won’t be allowed to return or retrieve anything for whats looking like at least a year—leaving her in an incredibly difficult position.
As a German expat working in the U.S., Jenny is not eligible for government assistance, making an already overwhelming situation even harder. She now faces months of uncertainty, needing both temporary housing and costly remediation efforts for her home, which may ultimately be a total loss.
How You Can Help
We’re coming together as a community to help cover essential costs, including:
✅ Temporary housing for the next 8-10 months
✅ Basic necessities (clothing, food, hygiene products)
✅ Home remediation & potential recovery efforts
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in helping Jenny rebuild. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign would mean the world.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time.
