**Help Me Help A Friend Get Back on His Feet**

I want to share something that recently happened that truly touched my heart, and I’m asking for your help.

A friend of mine came to me because he needed help updating his documents. There’s a language barrier, and he didn’t really have anyone else to turn to. During the time his documents expired and while he was trying to figure everything out, he ended up losing his apartment, his car, and his job.

He has no family here. No real support system besides a small circle of people who know him.

When we finally got to the end of the process to update his documents, we were told the full amount had to be paid that same day. That’s when he quietly told me he didn’t have the money. In good faith, I covered the cost, and we were able to successfully update everything that same day.

Afterward, I told him he would receive his receipt in the mail… and that’s when he humbly shared with me that he had lost his apartment a week ago.

He broke down.

I did everything I could to comfort him. I even called his apartment complex to see if there was anything they could do due to hardship. The woman I spoke with said if I had called a week earlier, she would have definitely helped—but his unit had already been rented. She did say he was a good tenant and wished he had spoken up sooner. I asked her to please place him back on the waiting list.

From there, I spent hours looking for resources. With the help of another friend, I made the decision to get him into an extended-stay hotel and covered the cost so he would at least have a safe place to sleep.

On the drive there, I turned on the radio to 88.3, and he smiled and said that he loves gospel music. We sang music the whole way there. At one point, I saw him place his hand over his heart, look at me, and say, “Thank you for helping me. You make me so happy.” I told him, “You’re my brother—of course.”

That moment… it was peace, faith, and love all at once. A reminder that sometimes we’re placed in each other’s lives for a reason.

When we got to the room, it only had the basics, so I took him to get food and personal items. Once he was settled, we hugged, thanked God, and I left. I had been holding back tears the whole time, but when I finally got in my car, I broke down—tears of joy, charity, faith, and hope.

I truly believe God prepared me for this moment so I could help a friend in need.

Now I’m asking for help, because I can only do so much on my own.

Our goal is to raise **$3,500** to help him get back on his feet:

$2,000 - to get his car back so he can return to work
$1,105.01 - that I’ve already covered for his documents, food, hotel stay, and basic necessities.

The remaining funds will go toward extending his stay if we are unable to secure him an apartment right away or towards an apartment.

This would be a complete surprise to him and such a blessing, since he has not asked me to do this.

If you feel it in your heart to give, thank you. If not, please consider sharing.

I have faith in our community—friends, family, and even strangers—to come together and bless our brother from another mother.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
