Help a Freelancer in Gaza Rebuild His Life
Donation protected
My name is Mohammed, and I’m a freelance English–Arabic translator living in Gaza. Before October 7th, 2023, I built my career online, working hard to support my family of five—my elderly parents, my younger brother, my sister, and myself. I was proud to be the sole provider, offering my skills to clients worldwide and ensuring my family had a modest but stable life.
But everything changed when the war began.
Since the aggression started, I’ve lost access to both electricity and the internet for long periods—tools that are the lifeblood of my freelance work. I was cut off from all my clients. I couldn’t deliver projects. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. My inbox filled with undelivered work and expired contracts. Slowly, and painfully, my career collapsed.
I lost my only source of income.
Living in Gaza as a freelancer is already a daily struggle—with unreliable electricity, weak internet infrastructure, and economic instability. But now, amid ongoing destruction and unbearable loss, it has become nearly impossible. Prices for food, water, and basic necessities have skyrocketed. Families are being pushed to their limits. My family is no exception. We’re living in survival mode.
This campaign is a call for humanitarian aid.
I’m not just asking for help—I’m asking for hope. Your donations will help me:
- Buy basic food and medicine for my family, such as flour, vegetables, cooking oil, sugar, salt, seasoning, etc.
- Wood for cooking.
- Studio Apartment Rent for my parents, my sister, and me.
- Studio Apartment Rent for my brother Allaa, his wife, and his daughters.
- Studio Apartment Rent for my brother Khalil, his wife, and his son.
- Working space expenses; I need to rent a working space that provides electricity and internet to continue my freelance work online.
- Afford power and internet when available to try to restore my freelance work.
- Support my siblings’ essential needs in these times of uncertainty.
- Rebuild my life and career with dignity.
No contribution is too small. Even sharing this campaign with your networks can make a world of difference. Freelancers in Gaza are suffering in silence—but with your help, my story can have a new chapter.
Please stand with me. Help me survive this war and find my way back to work, hope, and life.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
