Help a foster kid buy a car and have independence!
Donation protected
Hi everybody! Olympic medalist Sandi Morris here. I am reaching out to the community…my fans, friends, and followers to come to the aid of one of my closest friends, Ashley Hart, and her family.
Ashley and her wife Naomi are some of the most kind, giving people I know. Both are in healthcare and dedicate their lives to helping others in many ways, including raising foster kids! A few nights ago, there was a hit and run incident involving her foster kid’s vehicle, which is her lifeline for getting to school, work, and soon college.
Ashley did not ask me to start a go fund me, but instead, asked me to direct folks to a program called On the Road Again, where cars can be donated to foster kids in need of a mode of transportation to chase their dreams! If you happen to have a vehicle you are ready to part with, it can be donated (tax deductible) to On the Road Again in South Carolina. More details below.
Well, I know that not everyone has a car to give away, so I would like to provide the option of donating to help them recover from the hit and run, and get their kid back in action. Let’s get her a car!
Here are a few words from Ashley:
Urgent: Help Needed - Hit and Run Incident
Two nights ago, our daughter's car, which she relies on to get to school and work, was parked on the street and was hit by a red pickup truck. The damage is extensive, and it's very likely that the car is now beyond repair.
As parents, witnessing our daughter's devastation is heart-wrenching. She's worked tirelessly to juggle school, work, and her responsibilities, only to have this unfortunate incident shatter her sense of security and independence.
Our neighbors saw the incident which happened around 12am and informed us.
Amidst our own turmoil, we're reaching out to the broader community.
The On The Road Again program provides donated vehicles to teenagers in foster care. These teens deserve every opportunity to pursue their dreams and aspirations, just like our daughter.
I urge you to consider contributing to this noble cause by donating (tax deductible) to the On The Road Again program (https://scfpa.com/on-the-road-again/). Your generosity can provide a lifeline to those who are striving for independence, despite facing immense challenges.
Despite the setback, our daughter remains resilient. She's worked diligently to secure a job, earn her driver's license, maintain excellent grades, and secure admission to her dream college. Let's rally around her and others like her, offering support and solidarity in their journey towards a brighter future.
Thank you for being a caring and compassionate community. Together, we can make a difference and uplift those in need.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Harts
