A tragic accident has left one of our foster dogs fighting for her life.

Yesterday, one of our sweet fosters with The Dachshund Rescue of Ohio was the victim of a sudden and violent attack when a neighbor’s dog, weighing over 100 lbs, broke the fence, grabbed her, and viciously attacked her.

Her foster family witnessed the entire event and rushed her to the emergency hospital, where she arrived in critical condition.

The attack caused severe trauma to her neck, damaging vital muscles and tissue. It’s truly a miracle that she is still alive. She underwent emergency surgery to save her life and remains in intensive veterinary care as she continues to fight her way toward recovery.

Her medical bills have already exceeded $10,000, and she will need extensive rehabilitation, including a wound vac and specialized therapy, to help her heal and regain her strength.
