Meet Fluffy — a tiny survivor with a big heart and an even bigger will to live.

Fluffy spent the earliest part of her life fending for herself outdoors, never knowing kindness or safety. When she first arrived at FUR of WNC (a local cat rescue in western North Carolina), she was frightened and wary of humans — and who could blame her? But with patience, gentle care, and love, something beautiful began to happen. Day by day, Fluffy has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate cat who now seeks out comfort, trust, and connection. For the first time in her life, she knows what it means to feel safe.

And now, just as her new life is beginning, Fluffy needs our help.

During a recent veterinary visit, Fluffy was diagnosed with a severe heart murmur. Specialists have confirmed that she requires lifesaving heart surgery. Without this procedure, her life will be tragically cut short. With it, she has an excellent chance to live a full, happy life — the kind she has waited so long to experience.

The cost of this specialized medical care is estimated to be up to $5,000, an overwhelming expense for our small rescue to manage alone. Waiting is not an option. Every day matters for Fluffy.
