Hi everyone,
I never thought I would be in a position where I had to ask for help like this, but I’m honestly overwhelmed and out of options right now.
I’m a first generation college student, and my car is my only form of transportation. I rely on it to get to school, work, and to support myself. Just three weeks ago, I used my savings that I've been saving for a year to buy this car. Last night at 3:11 a.m., my car was stolen. I don’t have full coverage insurance, just liability, and they said they won't cover the repairs.. I really believed I was finally getting back on my feet after so much life has thrown my way.
After hours of stress and waiting, I was able to locate the car using my AirPods (with no help from PD), but it was left damaged in the back of a rundown alley. The ignition where the key goes is completely broken, the rear window is shattered, and the front bumper has been torn off and damaged on the side, the radiator fan was also damaged.... The car is currently not drivable and will no longer start. I need help to try to fix it to the point where it's drivable in order for me to use it to commute.
Without this car, I can’t get to my classes, I can’t get to work, and I won’t be able to pay my rent. I don’t have extra money to cover these unexpected repairs on my own, especially after using my saving to buy the car... This situation puts my education, housing, and stability at risk.
I’m asking for help to cover the repairs needed to make my car drivable again, including the ignition repair, window replacement, and bumper damage. Any amount helps, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser or finding another cash car that I'm able to use.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I’m grateful for any support, kindness, or encouragement during this incredibly difficult moment.
