Help a First-Gen Dreamer Cross the Finish Line

Dear Friends and Community,

My name is James, most interns call me “Mr. Jackson”and I’m honored to have an career opportunity that allows me to nurture the hopes and dreams of young, aspiring engineers. Today, is a “career first” , I’m reaching out to you with a plea that comes from the depths of my heart.

I’m assisting a young man known as “Tray” with raising funds, He is an extraordinary young man who embodies resilience, determination, and hope. As a Black first-generation college student, he has fought against the odds every step of the way, driven by the dream of becoming an engineer. But now, that dream is hanging by a thread.

Tray is in his final year of college, just months away from earning his degree—an achievement that would change the course of his life and uplift his family. But the weight of life’s harshest realities is bearing down on him. His mother, who has been his unwavering source of strength, is battling a terminal illness. His father, despite working tirelessly, is underemployed and struggling to provide for the family. The burden of medical bills and daily expenses has left Tray facing the heartbreaking possibility of not being able to finish his education.

Imagine the pain of coming so close to a dream, only to have it slip away because of circumstances beyond your control. This young man has done everything right. He’s shown up, put in the work, and kept faith even in the darkest moments. But now, he needs our help to cross the finish line.

We have set a goal to raise $8000.00 by August 26th to cover his tuition and the essentials he needs to complete his degree. Your support isn’t just about money—it’s about giving a young man the chance to fulfill his potential, to make his family proud, and to honor the sacrifices they’ve made for him.
