Help a Femmepire Care Collective Member in Need

Who is this for?

A member of Femmepire/Care Collective is experiencing a medical crisis and they are in need of urgent financial support. As a collective grounded in caring for our community, we know the power of mutual aid, and we are turning to you all for help. The systems that are supposed to protect us are failing. This treasured member of our collective has been in and out of hospitals the last few weeks– they are admitted, they advocate for themselves with assistance from friends and family, and they are discharged hours later with no meaningful change. To make matters worse, they are currently living in a city far away from their support system. Our friend needs rest and healing, and especially because the medical system can’t currently support this, they need to be surrounded by folks who can care for them. This entails having the funds to move, and the ability to take time off work to recover. (They remain anonymous for this fundraiser as a necessary safety measure).

 

What does this fund?

Donating will directly support this collective member in relocating to the city where their support systems live. Moving cities is expensive, requiring deposit for the new apartment, and movers costs. Also, because of their ongoing health crisis (along with the ongoing difficulties of being a human working in the pandemic) we are aiming to cover their next month of rent before they move, as well as fund for a small buffer of savings should this health crisis continue. You will be funding safety, sustainable support, and recovery for a person who has given so much to their communities without asking for anything in return. You will be funding a lifeline for them to survive. Anything above our initial goal will allow them to take time off work for recovery.

 

Funding goals:

We have broken down our donation goals into four parts: (1-3) moving costs (as this need is extremely urgent and, as is, they are not safe), and (4) financial security/covering the time they are unable to work.
