Help a Fearless Father Fight Cancer

The Chris Ormando family is your classic American dream family. Kelly and Chris were high school sweethearts; married for the last 15 years. They have two beautiful children together, are raising their nephew, and work hard to provide for them. They don’t ask for help, so we are asking for them.
In July 2016 Chris was diagnosed with cancer. The process for treatment nearly killed Chris, LITERALLY. Scheduled for an incorrect procedure, medical lines with an unidentified puncture, coding in the recovery room, discharged with life threatening internal bleeding…. the journey was not easy. After many treatments and extreme surgery with permanent and debilitating effects; Chris was FINALLY cancer free.
We learned that Chris’ remission ended just this week. Already seeing specialists, Chris is facing additional treatments and surgeries. Doctors have warned of additional long-term effects with each option that was presented.
Chris' treatment has come with steep costs not covered by the insurance company; leaving Chris and Kelly to pay the balance. No family in this country should have to face declining treatment, bankruptcy, foreclosure, divorce, etc. However; so many times, these are the results of unbridled medical costs.
This family has a HEART OF GOLD. Kelly works in addiction treatment, helping to save the lives of people in her community every day. Anyone who knows Kelly will agree that she always fights for the underdog, doing whatever is humanly possible to help others succeed and grow.
Chris is equally amazing, always looking to do the right thing, help others and bring laughter to his loved ones. Last month, Chris was behind a gentleman with a notebook on his car and followed him because he knew it would fall off. When it fell off, Chris stopped to pick it up, protected it from being stolen and then drove to find the car, following this gentleman home to return it. Unbeknownst to Chris, this gentleman was also receiving cancer treatment at the same office as Chris previously visited and the notebook contained all his appointment information.
Please, join us in helping this family move forward. Be a part of allowing them to focus on treatment and recovery, instead of debt and worry. On behalf of Chris, Kelly, friends and loved ones – we will be eternally grateful.
