In 2006, when I was just 19 years old, my life changed forever. A motorcycle accident caused a C6-C7 spinal cord injury and left me a quadriplegic.
In a single moment, everything changed.
The years since have been filled with challenges, pain, and uncertainty. But through it all, I have fought to build a life filled with purpose, love, and hope.
One of life’s greatest blessings was marrying my wife, my partner, and my strength through every obstacle. Together, we were blessed with our son, Leo.
And that is why I am asking for help today.
More than anything in this world, my deepest prayer is to stand beside my wife and watch our son grow into a man. To see his milestones, celebrate his achievements, and be present as he becomes the person he is meant to be. That is the future I hold in my heart.
As a father, there is no greater desire than to be there for my son—not just in spirit, but with the best health, strength, and independence possible. I want more time, more ability, and more moments with my family.
To continue fighting for that future, I need ongoing bi-weekly physical therapy, which is critical to maintaining my health, strength, and mobility. Unfortunately, this therapy is not covered by my insurance, creating a financial burden my family cannot carry alone.
I am also seeking support for a Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) therapy system, which is also not covered by insurance. This therapy has the potential to improve sensation, motor function, overall health, and quality of life.
But to me, this is more than therapy.
This is hope.
Hope for greater independence.
Hope for better health.
Hope for continued therapy I need to keep fighting.
Hope for the opportunity to be there with my wife to watch our son grow into manhood.
I am setting aside my pride and asking for help because this is about more than medical equipment or therapy. It is about fighting for more life with the people I love most.
If you can donate, no matter the amount, you would be helping support both the ongoing physical therapy I need and access to the FES treatment that could change my future.
And if you cannot give, sharing my story would mean so much.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me hold onto the dream that my wife and I will stand together and watch our son become the man he is meant to be.
That hope means everything to me.
