Urgent Support Needed for Family, Housing & Medical Crisis

06/20 Update
Please share this as widely as possible. We are urgently trying to keep our power on and stay in our home.
I’ve done everything I can to keep my family afloat, but we’re now facing multiple critical crises at once—and time is running out.
Our Immediate Needs
We are currently at risk of eviction. A power shutoff is scheduled in just a few days. My daughter’s college tuition remains unpaid. And perhaps most heartbreaking of all, we’ve had to postpone meeting our first grandchild—recently born in California—because we simply can’t afford the trip.
Here’s what we urgently need to cover this week:
• Power Bill: $1,000
(Shutoff is scheduled for 6/23. PECO has agreed to accept this amount as a down payment to avoid disconnection, with monthly payments going forward.)
• Rent: $3,200
(Currently overdue)
• Groceries & Household Essentials: $500
• Tuition: $1,500
(To ensure my daughter can remain enrolled at Temple University)
Total Immediate Need: $6,200
Total Raised So Far: $4,720 (43%)
Updated Campaign Goal: $10,920
New Health Concern
We were recently approved for Medicaid, which has brought some much-needed relief. However, my wife recently discovered a lump in her breast and is now scheduled for a medical evaluation next week. We’re staying hopeful, but this new development adds a fresh wave of uncertainty to an already overwhelming situation.
Why Your Support Matters
I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help. But I’m doing this for my wife, our children, and our future. I continue to apply for jobs daily, follow up on every lead, and do everything possible to regain stability.
Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign—can help us keep the lights on, stay in our home, continue medical care, and keep our daughter in school. Every gift and every share truly matters.
How This All Started
Several months ago, I was laid off after a long career in the telecom and media industry. Since then, I’ve been working tirelessly to find employment—submitting countless applications, networking nonstop—but so far, no new opportunities have materialized.
When we first launched this fundraiser in the spring, our goal was $4,000—just enough to cover rent and utilities. Thanks to the kindness of supporters, we made it through that first crisis.
But over time, the situation has become even more urgent—with mounting bills, delayed job prospects, and now a possible medical emergency. This campaign has become our lifeline—and every act of kindness helps us keep going.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
With deep appreciation,
Clayton
