Hi, this is for my father, James (Jim). He is almost 53 years old and he needs a liver transplant. Transparently, he is a recovering alcoholic. He quit drinking in November of 2024 and was hospitalized for complications from a failing liver early February of 2025. He is a Tunica-Biloxi tribal member who has been failed by our system and has a genetic disposition for addiction. Unfortunately, his story is not unique for our indigenous community in the United States. Despite that fact, I am selfishly on this platform asking for money. I am one of his four children and we only just started to speak again on Christmas Eve. Now I am hoping I get the chance to get to know my dad. I am hoping that he didn't quit drinking too late to have a second chance at life. I have forgiven my dad for his drinking and I hope, if you are reading this, you can too. Please, if you can, help his four children and four grandchildren have a little more time. Thank you.
