Help a Father Fight Multiple Myeloma

We’re reaching out with love and urgency for someone fighting for his life.

My fiancé was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in May 2024 — a rare and aggressive blood cancer. He began treatment the following month. By July, the side effects were hitting hard: constant fatigue, nausea, and headaches. His hours at work declined, but he kept pushing — working as much as his body would allow — until he was finally let go in January 2025.

In August, he contracted COVID-19 — twice — and began battling recurring strep throat infections. His immune system is now so fragile that his doctors told us our 5-year-old daughter couldn’t attend school, not because she’s sick, but because the everyday germs she might bring home could be life-threatening to him.

We had to pull her out of her medically necessary speech and occupational therapies, too — all to protect him. I now homeschool her full-time while caregiving around the clock and trying to recover from my own recent hysterectomy. It’s an impossible balancing act.

He recently completed his first round of chemotherapy. His best chance at survival is a bone marrow transplant, but it’s been delayed — because he must first complete urgent dental work. He’s already had his wisdom teeth removed and two deep gum cleanings. Now he needs oral surgery to extract two more teeth, and insurance won’t cover it. Without this surgery, the transplant can’t happen.

We’re asking for donations to help cover:

Credit card debt that began building when his hours were reduced

Rent, utilities, and daily expenses while he undergoes treatment

Dental surgery and transplant-related care not covered by insurance

Caregiving needs, travel, and other out-of-pocket medical expenses

We’re keeping our identities private to protect our peace and safety — but this story is real. My fiancé and I have been two peas in a pod for 29 years and we are doing everything we can, but it’s just too much now to carry alone.
