As a Parent, I Can’t Imagine Sean’s Pain. Please Help.
Our friend Sean Pounds is going through something no parent should ever face. His son, Caleb, was hit by a car in Los Angeles and suffered a severe brain injury. He’s now in a coma, fighting to stay alive, and doctors think that at best, he will be in the hospital for months. There’s a very real chance he may never wake up.
Sean dropped everything and rushed to L.A. to be with him—because of course he did.
But now he’s far from home, unable to work, and dealing with huge financial stress. Between medical bills, long-term care, and just trying to cover basic living costs while staying near Caleb, the expenses are overwhelming.
He’s trying to stay hopeful while carrying a weight no one should have to carry alone. Any support—whether it’s donating or just sharing this page—will help Sean stay by Caleb’s side through this long, uncertain journey. Truly, I can't imagine a worse possible situation.
Thank you for standing with Sean and Caleb during such a heartbreaking time.
Here is an article about the event, they did at least catch the driver.

This is the most current status.
They had to remove a portion of his skull, and store it in his abdomen to alleviate pressure from the brain injury.

A quick update on Caleb:
**"The CT scan and EEG turned out fairly well. There were no highly unanticipated changes there.
The neurosurgeon gave us an updated explanation of where Caleb is at.
He is out of the acute phase where he is likely to have a sudden death, but things are still a little bit touch-and-go. Posturing may be a sign of the extent of the damage done, but we honestly won't know for a while what that looks like.
For sure, he will need a long-term care facility. Recovery will take well over a year. How much Caleb recovers is currently unknown, rn.
The most important thing right now is that he is stable at the moment and that is very unlikely to change suddenly."**
They both have a long road ahead.
