I never imagined I would be writing something like this.
I am creating this fundraiser quietly, without my brother knowing, because his pride would never allow him to ask for help. But right now, he and his special needs son need support more than ever.
A few weeks ago, their world changed overnight.
The person who handled all of the household finances abruptly left. My brother had always worked hard and trusted that the mortgage, utilities, and bills were being paid. He focused on providing. He believed his family was secure.
After she walked away, he discovered the truth.
The mortgage hasn’t been paid in months.
They are now facing foreclosure.
The electric bill is over $5,000.
Water, cable, and essential services are at risk.
There was little to no food in the home.
His son is special needs and relies deeply on routine, structure, and the comfort of familiarity. This house is the only home he has ever known. The sudden abandonment has already shaken his emotional stability. The thought of losing his home too is devastating.
There was no Christmas in their home this year except for what my brother was able to pull together at the last minute. Decorations were never put up. Joy was replaced with confusion and heartbreak.
My brother is not lazy. He is not irresponsible. He is a hardworking father who trusted the wrong situation and is now trying to repair the damage while protecting his child from further trauma.
On top of this he gets notification from building inspector repairs need to be done or face fines.
He is approximately $15,000 behind in total obligations.
These funds will go directly toward:
• Bringing the mortgage current to stop foreclosure
• Paying past-due electric, water, and utility bills
• Restoring cable/services his son relies on daily
• Keeping homeowner’s insurance active
• Providing food and basic daily necessities
• Stabilizing their home as you can see the repairs needed are the porch and also the back of house i will add more photos soon, he is trying to get things done while he rebuilds financially, but it is challenging and devastating.
This is about saving the only safe place his son knows.
This is about helping a father who never stopped supporting his family often going without so they had what they needed.
This is about giving a special needs child security instead of more abandonment.
If you can donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
If you cannot, please share.
Sometimes the strongest people are the ones who need help the most — even when they would never ask for it themselves.
How Funds Will Be Used (Estimated Total: $15,000)
• Mortgage arrears to stop foreclosure – ~$5,000+
• Past-due electric bill – ~$4,000+
• Water and essential utilities – ~$800
• Home repairs needed – ~$3,000+
• Food and basic daily needs – ~$500+
Any funds raised beyond this goal will help create a small emergency cushion to prevent future instability while he rebuilds.
Every dollar will go directly toward housing, utilities, and stabilizing a disabled child’s environment.
