In 2021, I was diagnosed with Liposarcoma, a cancerous tumor that developed in my abdomen. The tumor was the size of a football and weighed 5 lbs. It was resected along with the right kidney, part of the diaphragm, and part of the ureter. I went through 5 procedures in 13 months, and at the tail end of it, the emotional toll was too much, and my marriage ended.

Subsequently, everything appeared to be going well physically, but unfortunately, a CT scan showed an unidentified mass about 6 months ago, and it has grown. The surgeon needs to remove the tumor, and there's a possibility they'll remove part of the colon and part of the intestine.

The day after I received this news, my oldest daughter Yvette, who led me to Christ when she was 6 yrs old, was also diagnosed with a TR5 tumor, a thyroid nodule which is classified as “highly suspicious” for thyroid cancer. She also will have to get surgery.

The Dr's had me stop working now. My procedure will be on Jan 20th with other procedures and tests to be done before that. The challenge financially is that there is a lag in short-term disability help coming in, and when it does come in, it will only cover about 2/3 of my regular income. My monthly mortgage payment is $1,300 and our monthly food expense is about $600.

It is humbling to ask for help again for the next round of this battle for myself and this journey for Yvette. Anything will help.
