Help a family who is losing their mum to cancer!

Angela O’Grady is someone I hold so very closely to my heart.
A mother of 4 beautiful children, Imogen (21), Murray (19), Jack (18) and Rusty (16) and doting grandmother to eighteen month old Cody, she has devoted her career to health care for over 15 years and loved her role as a theatre CSSD Manager.
Angela’s and her family’s world first changed in February 2019 when she was diagnosed with cancer for the first time. Her breast cancer treatment consisted of 24 gruelling rounds of chemotherapy and 25 days of harsh radiation with daughter Imogen caring for her mother every step of the way.
After such a cruel time, Angela was given the good news that she was in the clear and cancer free and in the 3 years of being in remission, Angela moved her family from Brisbane to Melbourne to take up a new job at Warringal Private Hospital where she has made a huge impact.
Angela is an enthusiastic and motivational manager who has had a positive impact on not only her team of 33 but everyone around her - Angela is the definition of a “Can do attitude” helping everyone she could in the busy hospital setting.
Not only has Angela thrived in a hospital setting but her boys followed her lead and got their first jobs in healthcare, working at Warringal and The Austin as an Orderly and in Catering.
Earlier this month Angela was at work like normal, and after complaining of a headache and back pain, went to go get some tests done on her lunch break. Her cancer has returned. It has metastasised from her breast to her brain, lung, and pelvic bone, and she has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive disease called leptomeningeal I.
One minute Angela was running around work doing what she loves best, the next she was getting prepped for major surgery - a Craniotomy which although it went well, found 2 other inoperable brain masses on either side of her temple.
At only 46, Angela was given less than 12 months to live.
Everything as Angela knew it was changing.
In these challenging times we are initiating a fundraiser to help take some pressure of Angela and the future for her children. We understand times are hard for everyone but no matter how large or small the donation, it will go a long way for this family.
There are no words to describe the pain this family has gone through but Angela is a role model, a fighter, and someone that will forever leave their beautiful glow in this world. Her family mean the world to her, so knowing they will have something to support them after she is gone will help Angela a great deal.
Angela has left a long lasting culture within the CSSD and theatre setting, and anything you can spare to help support our friend and mentor, the courageous Angela, and her family, is greatly appreciated.
