UPDATE: It’s been four weeks since my brother, Greg, went to be an angel. His family misses him so much. The community of Lubbock as been so generous and supportive. We could not be at this point without you. You have shown up in big and small ways. All your care and compassion has been a wonderful blessing in these dark days.
The funds raised have paid for the funeral expenses, temporary housing, permanent housing rent, utilities set up, and purchasing some new items (necessity)for the household. Money has been set aside for future rent so my sister in-law doesn’t have to take a second job and she can be at home with her children in the evenings.
Our biggest need now is money to clear the lot where the remaining home is. This is a big expense (thousands of dollars)since things must be disposed of properly and large equipment is needed. The goal is to dispose of the debris so the lot can be sold.
We are also looking for counseling for my mother, sister in-law, nieces and nephews. They need better skills to manage their grief and process their loss in the healthiest way possible.
ORIGINAL POST
My nieces and nephews lost their Dad and home in a fire on February 26, 2024 in Lubbock, Texas. We are beyond heartbroken. They lost everything in the home. Please donate to help with replacing lost necessities, housing, and funeral expenses. Necessities like clothing, beds, and furniture. Temporary housing while they wait on house insurance. They didn’t have comprehensive coverage just coverage for the structure.
Your help will always be remembered.
My brother was a loving father and also cared for my mother. He leaves behind 4 kids and wife. Claudia, who is now the sole provider. The children are in different stages of life. Nesly is in her second year at Texas Tech, Jose is preparing to start college in the Fall. Diana is a Junior in High School, and Christian is second grade.
Their financial situation was challenging before the fire. They don’t have the financial resources to bury their Dad, find a new home, and replace necessities.
They also need a car so Diana can help by working after school and drive her brother to and from school.
