Help a Family Stay Together After School Shooting

I hate that I have to do this. My daughter was involved directly in the Apalachee High School massacre. She was in the hallways taking a test with her teacher and 3 other students. When the gunfire started, they ran. They found a classroom that opened the door for the 5 of them. As soon as the door shut behind them, the shooter tried to get in that room behind them.

My job is offering me the time off to be with her so we can process this together. However, it will be unpaid. I am the sole income in my home as my wife has recently become disabled due to debilitating migraines. We have been fighting disability to get another income in the house. I need to be here with my family to help support them and start the healing process that we came seconds away from our child becoming the 5th death or 10th injured. I am afraid to accept the time because I can’t lose my home again. We just got through my mother passing away and got evicted when we returned because we were late on our rent due to me not working because we were out of state for about 2 months. We were just starting to get back on our feet. Now this.
