I am holding this fundraiser to help my family move to a house that cannot be taken away from us. My auntie who has been living in her house for 20 years, my mother, and my whole family are being thrown out without any compensation after spending all their savings they had for repairs to make the home livable for us. Somebody who was supposed to help them get a loan to pay back taxes instead went behind their back and transferred the deed to under someone else's name. My family took it to court and lost, and we are now facing an inevitable eviction. My hardworking mother and aunt are deeply saddened by the outcome, as we have dealt with housing insecurity and eviction in the past. This fundraiser will help us put a down-payment on a new home as well as moving costs to make sure we still have a roof on our head.
