Ivan was recently apprehended by ICE, leaving the Elisabet and their 10-year-old daughter heartbroken and suddenly without the support they relied on. He had entered the country three years ago to escape gang extortion in Lima, Peru, and was working as a delivery driver here when he was pulled over on 295. The police called ICE, who immediately arrive, boxed in his delivery truck, and took him directly into their custody.

His family didn't hear from him for three days. Since then they've learned where he is being held in Virginia and a court date has been set for the second week of January.

With the family's main provider gone, Elisabet is struggling to pay for legal fees, rent, and even daily necessities. The uncertainty and fear have made every day a challenge, and the hope for a safe and stable future feels out of reach without help from their community.

The funds raised will go directly toward covering urgent legal expenses to keep Ivan in the country and provide protection from future ICE raids, keeping a roof over their heads, and making sure the mother and daughter have what they need to get through this crisis.
