Hello! I hate to be back into a position of needing help, but due to medical events that led to the working adults in the home to have to adjust schedules, call out frequently, and one of the boys had their hours cut to 3/week in retaliation for asking for a permanent availability change.
This past year, my physical health has declined so far that a simple injury has led to me being completely bed bound and having been in the emergency department several times, with still no tangible idea of what happened to my hip/SI joint. As a result, I have needed round the clock assistance for my own needs, plus taking care of our pets and Ana. Justin (Ana’s dad) is working to find a new job after the retaliation against him at this place he is at currently, and Jimmy (roommate/very nice friend who gave us a home) has been working as much as he can but he’s also missed a lot as a result of needing to be around to help where Justin can’t. This injury, like I said, was simple. Ana can become aggressive during meltdowns, and this particular one was no exception. She threw herself to the floor while I was holding her hand, and took me right down with her. This was back at the end of July, and three week later I’m still in the same pain with the same symptoms of things like saddle anesthesia.
We have been scraping by until now, but as of now we’re desperately needing help to catch back up.. we have been able to stay on top of rent; but bills such as internet/phone service, electric, and necessary vet and other human medical expenses are falling behind desperately.
We owe $519 on the phone/internet bill, which that alone is needed for job searching as well as my attendance of college classes (I got accepted into an online program and am working to get my BA in psychology with a specialized degree in child development!), not to mention of course essential communication between the members of the home.
Our electric bill is easily just as much, as we’ve prioritized rent and food over other expenses. With me requiring a specialized diet due to several allergies, our food cost is through the roof. All of our pets currently suffer with fleas and related skin allergies, and we have begun to get one taken care of, but as we all know, vet care is expensive. Not to mention needing to purchase school supplies for Ana, and ensuring we can send her off to school ready to succeed. I’ve communicated with her teachers and gotten as much as I possibly can for her, but this last paycheck is barely enough to take care of anything, as we have had to be creative with ensuring we keep food in the house for everyone. Most days, the adults are only eating one meal, so we can make sure there’s enough food for Ana to eat well.
I am doing my best to come up with the funds with the money-making activities I have, but it’s a far slower process than we can afford and without internet/phones I can’t even work on my online work to work towards any financial gain. I work tirelessly doing what I can to contribute, and as a family we’re doing our best, but constant denials for SSDI/SSI on my part, plus many other expenses ranging from gas to hotel trips during weeks of 2-4 appointments in a row, to food, bills, vet care, and anything else you could possibly think of…it’s had our hands bound.
If anyone is able to help, I would be beyond appreciative. I listed the goal to encompass all the emergency needs we are facing, however I know that everyone is facing their own struggles in the world right now. If anyone would like, I am open to discussing payment arrangements to repay anyone for their help in this! If we can manage to pass the goal needed to pay for bills, I am desperately in need of purchasing a wheelchair for mobility aid purposes.. when even walking to the bathroom is a painful, tiring, and draining task, it becomes a very heavy consideration. More so when any medical staff who see me miserably limping through the doors of hospital based clinics come rushing to ask if I would like a wheelchair. In fact, the last instance, the very nice ladies also took Ana potty for me as I was struggling to make it to my clinic on time and also get her to the potty while waiting for Jimmy to park the car and meet us in the building. I have found I can actually shop if I use the power carts that are provided at stores. I can begin to take control of my life again and be able to go out and do the things I haven’t been able to do in so long.. so this is definitely a secondary goal, but if we are able to come up with that, I will be able to accomplish so much more with the mobility accommodations I have so desperately needed.
Thank you all, so very very much, and I hope everyone has a fantastic day, and thank you all for reading
