Help a Family Rebuild After John's Passing

Hello, I am starting this for myself and my family. Three years ago, July 2021, our family recieved devastating news. My husband, John, got sick. He was forced to quit his job because he wasn't able to work safely. After many doctors appointments and hospital trips, he was diagnosed with a crippling disease called CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) on 2/22/23. This disease has no treatment and no cure. It acts in the form of extremely aggressive dementia, and slowly eats the brain till death occurs. Starting May 28th, he was unable to care for himself. Because of this I had to stop working and become his full time care-giver. Sadly on 8-3-24 this disease took John.

Once he was diagnosed we could not obtain additional life insurance, and the policy we have is for $20,000. Unfortunately with the amount of issues in my house this amount will not cover the expenses. This will only be covering his funeral and the insurance I wasn't able to cover while being out of work. Since he was no longer able to maintain a job we financially suffered. He also could not maintain the normal needs of the house, resulting in the decline of maintenance to our home. We live in a mobile home that's 20 years old. At this point it needs a new roof. It is leaking in both bathrooms in the house and has caused mold and mildew. The sink in our kitchen backs up, and when it does, the tub in our bath room (which is across the house) fills up with that water and it smells like sewer. I've had a plumber check it out, and he's dug out our drainage field, however it's still backing up. 

I have mold and mildew in my closet and in the bathroom from where there was a leak in the shower and not repaired in time to prevent damage. At this time it has stopped, however, it has caused major damage in the bathroom. The floor is falling in and there is so much mildew from where the leak was that I get mushrooms growing in my room. We have a soft spot in the spare bathroom as well from a leak that's underneath the tub that cannot be repaired without ripping out the entire tub and the ceiling in there. This is also causing major health issues because I am an asthmatic.

Our porch is a safety issue because the walking rails to the steps have fallen and deteriorated. My back door is completely rotted at the bottom and needs to be replaced ASAP because bugs and everything else get through that door.  

There is also molded from our leaking heating and cooling unit that broke several years ago. When I had a repair person come out to repair it, they didn't put the fan back on right. This caused it to ricochet and break everything inside the unit. The unit would need to be replaced which also costs thousands of dollars that we did not have. Because of this we've had to install window units that do not keep this house cool. The space heaters we've had to use instead does not keep the house warm during the winter. Our house insurance refuses to cover us if we use these heaters instead, but we have no choice to stay warm.

All of this has caused the wiring in my house to malfunction. Almost all of the plugs in the house will not support electricity. Some that do cause electrical fires and we can't use them anyways. In total we have maybe 10 plugs in the house that are usable. And we have to watch how we use them or the breaker will break.

 My goal is to get a new house. I am going to need help with the down payment. I am working on getting some government grants since John did die of a disease that is not a normal disease, however that is not going to be enough. So I'm raising as much money as I can to support getting a new house. The new house that I want will be another mobile home/module home. It'll be put on a cement foundation, not just on the dirt causing mildew and moisture issues underneath the trailer. This will cost approximately $140,000 for the new home.
