Hello All,
My wife and I, along with our 1-year-old daughter, live with my mother-in-law in an area affected by land movement. Towards the end of July, we lost access to gas as SoCal Gas shut off supply to our community. As we did our best to adjust, taking cold showers and boiling water for our baby's bath, we were finally able to get propane a week ago. Now, a month later, over Labor Day weekend no less, Southern California Edison de-energized the entire area, affecting almost 190 families, including ours. An evacuation warning is now in effect due to other infrastructure (mainly our sewers) not having power, and we are again trying to adjust and persevere.
We write this not to complain. We are avid campers and are doing decently well keeping our heads above water, but the bills are more than we had budgeted for. As so many dear friends have asked how they can help - this is really where we need help. To keep our new generator (that of course cost a pretty penny) running our refrigerator and charging electronics, it guzzles propane. To be able to survive the next few months until we are able to get solar (expected November time), we kindly ask that if you can spare a bit we would be forever grateful. We sincerely appreciate you keeping us in your thoughts and helping us through this difficult time.
A special thank you to Dennen, Jay, and Joe for jumping into action and helping us so quickly in our time of need. Thank you for your generosity before we even thought of a fundraiser.
THANK YOU to those that helped us get in the black since this all happened so quickly. As we prepare for new unexpected costs, we want to thank all those that are still willing to help us. We increased our ask for the sole reason we know we will need more support moving forward. We sincerely thank you all.
