Please Help the Thompson Family

Life has been unbearably hard for my sister and her family, and now they are facing the most difficult battle yet.
Two weeks ago, my brother-in-law was rushed to the hospital with double pneumonia, ketoacidosis, and influenza A. His condition was critical. At first, he wasn’t improving, and doctors discovered he was receiving too much fluid—his body was drowning. Once they corrected it, he started to stabilize, but just as we thought he was getting better, everything took a turn. After a week in the hospital, he was rushed into emergency surgery for a collapsed and separated lung. A chest tube was placed to drain the massive buildup of fluid. Three days later, scans revealed something even worse—a dark spot on his lung. Doctors now believe he has necrotic pneumonia, a severe and life-threatening infection that is eating away at his lungs. His chances of survival are uncertain.
But this is not the first health crisis to hit their home. My 7-year-old niece was hospitalized for pneumonia in December. My sister’s father-in-law, who lives with them and relies on her as his caretaker, has been in and out of the ER with his worsening health issues. My sister—who already battles fibromyalgia and lupus—has been struggling through flare-ups, ER visits, and endless doctor’s appointments, all while trying to hold her family together.
Now, with her husband in the fight of his life, my sister is facing an impossible reality. He is the primary provider for their family, and with no clear path to recovery, he may never be able to work again. My sister is a hard-working, selfless wife and mother, but her income alone isn’t enough to cover their mortgage, bills, medical expenses, and the everyday cost of raising a child. On top of that, car problems and the constant stress of survival have made it nearly impossible to see a way forward. Stress triggers her lupus flare-ups, and right now, she is carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders.
I’m asking for help because she deserves to focus on what truly matters—being with her husband and caring for her family—without the crushing fear of how she will keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. Any donation, big or small, will go toward covering their essential expenses during this time of unimaginable hardship. If you can’t donate, please share their story and keep them in your prayers. Thank you.
