On Tuesday (08/19/2025) , my best friend’s family of 9 lost their home in a devastating fire. In just moments, everything was gone their belongings, their memories, and their sense of stability. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but now they are left with nothing.

The Red Cross was only able to provide 2 days of support. Since then, the family has been broken up, staying with different relatives, trying to figure out their next step. The children just started school, but they don’t have the clothes, or stability they need during this already difficult time. To make things harder, the family’s pets were turned away from local shelters because they are already over capacity with a waitlist of over 200.
