I’m a college student living in Florida! This fundraiser is to help Fadi and his family of 8 survive the extremely difficult conditions in Gaza and cover the urgent costs related to his medical needs.

Fadi is 25 years old and was studying law at Al-Azhar University before the genocide. His home was destroyed, and he has lost his school, friends, and the life he once knew. He and his family are currently living in a tent under very harsh conditions, struggling daily to find food, water, medicine, and basic necessities.

In addition to this daily struggle, Fadi is facing a serious progressive eye condition called Keratoconus. This is a disease where the cornea — the clear front surface of the eye — becomes thinner and bulges outward into a cone shape instead of staying round. This distorts the light entering the eye and leads to severe vision impairment over time.

If left untreated, it can cause significant vision loss that would prevent him from carrying out normal daily activities. The treatment requires specialized procedures such as corneal cross-linking (CXL) or corneal transplants, which are not available in Gaza. That is why leaving for treatment has become a medical necessity, not just an option, because preserving his vision is crucial to his future.

In addition to everything they are facing, Fadi’s oldest sister recently gave birth to a baby boy. Caring for a newborn in a tent under these extremely difficult conditions — with limited food, water, medicine, and safety — has made their situation even harder.

Hello everyone,

My name is Fadi Inshasi. I am 25 years old, a law student from Gaza City.

For more than two and a half years since the genocide against the people of Gaza began, my family of 8 and I have been living through the hardest days of our lives. Our home was completely destroyed, and we are now forced to live in a tent. We face extreme difficulty obtaining food, water, medicine, and the basic needs for survival. Hunger, fear, and constant danger have become our daily reality. We have escaped death many times while searching for safety, but in Gaza there is no safe place left.

Before the war, I was studying Law at Al-Azhar University and had dreams for the future. The war destroyed our home, our university, and everything we had built.

On top of this suffering, I suffer from Keratoconus, a progressive eye disease.

The cornea becomes thinner and bulges into a cone shape, distorting vision and leading to severe impairment over time. I discovered the disease late. Because it is progressive, time is critical. In the early to moderate stages, corneal cross-linking (CXL) can halt the progression and strengthen the cornea. If it advances further, more invasive procedures such as specialized rigid contact lenses, Intacs, or even a corneal transplant may become necessary. None of these treatments are available in Gaza under the current circumstances.

Leaving Gaza to receive specialized treatment has become a vital medical necessity to protect my vision and any chance at a future.

The money raised will help cover basic survival needs for my family of 8 (food, water, medicine, and essential supplies) while we remain in Gaza, as well as the costs related to securing specialized eye treatment and the means to reach a place where it can be performed.
