Hi. This is my first time creating a gofundme page, but we have a family that's in critical need with few options. Their needs are too big for the few of us that know their story, so I thought this might help.
The family we are trying to help is a family of 7 (2 adults and 5 children) that were forced to WALK from South America all the way to the way to the United States for safe haven. It took 7 months of sleeping in the open jungle, dodging the cartels, avoiding human traffickers, and fending off starvation for them to make it Iowa. They achieved (and still have) legal status to be here. But with all the changes and confusion with immigration right now, they lost their work visas...followed by their full time jobs (They had to reapply for their work permits, but everything is moving very slow right now...plus they could only afford one application.) Either way, they are scrapping by with odd jobs and are very much underemployed.
These people are extremely hard working and want to contribute to our country. They are not criminals, and did everything the right way when they entered the U.S. The children range from 8 years old to 15 and are eager to learn. Long story short, these are people that bring value to our country.
I couldn't live with myself if I didn't do everything and anything I could do to help these folks. But like I said earlier, their needs are to big for the few that know their story.
All money raised, besides the 3.9% that gofundme keeps, will go toward the family's basic needs of food shelter and clothing. The hope is to help them have a little stability, a bit of security, and a lot of hope.
I make it a habit to try and not ask people for help...but i am asking now. PLEASE help us help these people. Thank you.
