Please Help a Family Member Through an Unimaginable Season

It’s very hard to write this, because as a family we’re used to being the helpers — not the ones asking for help. But right now, someone we love deeply needs support more than ever.

We are keeping this person's identity anonymous due to the nature of potential legal proceedings and to protect her children's' privacy.

As a devoted mom, she has always worked hard to create stability, warmth, and safety for her children. Right now, that stability feels uncertain. She is currently navigating a very difficult legal situation involving the future of the home where she and the kids live. The possibility of being forced to selling their home and ongoing custody matters have created significant emotional and financial strain. The legal process required to work through these issues is costly and overwhelming.

At the same time, the stress has begun to show up physically in her body. She is in the middle of a serious health crisis and needs gallbladder surgery. There is a three-month wait list for surgery and her pain has become so intense that she has been unable to work since winter break. Right now, she is simply trying to manage the pain and get through each day while caring for her children.

To add to everything else, her only car recently broke down beyond repair. She has been borrowing a vehicle from a family member, but that arrangement will be ending soon. Reliable transportation is essential for medical appointments, caring for the kids, and eventually returning to work.

The funds raised will go toward:

• Replacing lost income while she is unable to work

• Attorney fees related to housing and custody matters

• Purchasing a safe, reliable used vehicle

And to catch up on past due bills that have piled up while she has been out of work.

She is doing everything she can to protect her health and provide stability for her children during an incredibly challenging season. Her close family and friends are supporting her in every way we can, but the financial burden is more than we can manage alone.
