It is with a very heavy heart that I have come to set up this go fund me.
On Thursday June 20th at 7:15am a great mans life was lost. Andrew Herd was involved in a workplace accident at Red Hill Quarry which took his life and has left a hole in the hearts of his family. This has left the family completely broken, shocked and asking questions.
For anyone that knew, or even came into contact with Andrew would know how much of an incredible human being he was. It was an absolute pleasure and honour to have been a part of his life. His pride and joy was his beautiful daughter who is turning 13 next week. She is now left with nothing but his belongings and her memories. My heart is breaking watching and not being able to take this pain away from his family, his sister, his mother, these women are the most loving and incredible women in the world. And Andrew was the same. This tragedy has left them shell shocked and broken.
As Andrew and his sister have always been best mates and lived with each other, I know the financial impact this will have on a family. This brother and sister relationship I witnessed for so many years is the best team. They always have each other’s backs. Raise their kids all in the house and support each other in every way possible. Andrew was the best father and uncle. He loved them kids with every inch of him and everything he did was for them.
Although they’re not thinking about that yet, I can see that 4 children in 1 house things are going to get tough. The Herd family are the most selfless people in the world and it’s never been the amount of money they had it’s always the amount of love and memories that can be made. They would give you the shirt off their back if you were cold. So I know that they will never ever ask for help, even if it’s simple as cooking a meal.
I know that money cannot bring him back but as costs creep in and the sadness is still there money will become a problem.
Funeral costs hit, bills keep coming, food needs to be bought, school fees paid, mortgage paid, rates paid, cars fueled. And in the midst of all this, you don’t get time to grieve.
So Please donate to help the Herds cover the costs of Andrews memorial and to help Raise and assist the daughter and family left behind.
