On Friday, June 5th, a homeowner was visiting a neighbors house when he heard his wife’s screams coming from inside the house, along with gunshots. He immediately raced back to his home and armed himself and rushed inside to fight off the intruder. He and the intruder exchanged shots and the intruder was announced dead on arrival. This man saved his family and neighbors nearby his residence. But the horrific, overwhelming thought of taking someone’s life is haunting, even while performing a heroic act. Not only that, but their teenage daughter was hiding in the home during the entire duration of this home invasion, wondering if her parents were safe and questioning her own safety as well.

After officers cleared the crime scene, they were greeted with the intruder’s blood still in the home and gunshots in the doors. But mentally they were devastated, a place known as their home became a place of tragedy.
