This Christmas season, my sister Emily and her husband Matt Hake, who are very dear to us is experiencing an unimaginable tragedy. They were involved in a devastating car accident that forever changed their lives. Their precious 6 month old infant tragically passed away, Emily remains hospitalized and will require a long recovery, and their 18 month old daughter is also healing from her injuries.

At a time when most families are preparing for joy, togetherness, and celebration, this family is facing heartbreak, pain, and overwhelming uncertainty. They are not yet ready to share their story publicly, but the needs are immediate and significant — medical bills, funeral expenses, and time away from work as they focus on healing, grieving, and caring for their surviving child.
