From Grief to Survival- Help us survive through this crisis
Donation protected
Salam Alikum dear sisters and brothers,
My name is Hala, and I’m writing this with a heart full of sorrow, love, and hope. I’m the youngest daughter in a family from the north of Gaza , six sisters, two brothers… though now, I must say, just one brother remains.
On December 1st, 2023, my oldest brother was martyred. He was a nurse & everything to us , a protector, a provider, a light in our lives. His home was destroyed, and only his two little daughters survived. They now live with my parents , who are doing everything they can to care for them, despite having almost nothing left themselves.
Since the war began, my father has had no source of income. Like so many families in Gaza, ours now survives entirely on humanitarian aid , but even that has become painfully scarce. Every day is a fight for food, clean water, and safety. Every night is another prayer that they’ll wake up to see the morning.
Last year, I was forced to evacuate Gaza alone so I could continue my medical studies in Egypt. I am grateful to be alive, to be safe , but I am also broken inside. I am far away from my family, unable to hug them, to comfort them, to protect them. I'm trying to stay strong here on my own, studying to become a doctor, but the weight I carry every day is overwhelming.
I’m not someone who ever imagined asking for help like this, but I have no other choice. My family is doing everything they can to survive under the worst conditions imaginable, and I’m struggling just to afford my own basic needs while studying and trying to support them from afar. We need help so that I can keep going, and so that they can have even a sliver of relief.
Every donation, every share of this campaign, every prayer means the world to us. You are not just giving money , you are giving my family a chance to hold on, and giving me the strength to continue chasing my dream of becoming a doctor so I can serve people like them in the future.
From the depths of my heart , thank you.
With love and hope,
Hala
