In April 2015, I met Michael Humphries in Cleveland, Tennessee, where I was living with my four children, ages 3, 5, 6, and 8. I was residing in my own duplex and working a full-time job at Duracell. Michael was employed with Thompson Construction and was from Lugoff, South Carolina. During our dating period, Michael moved into my residence at 1506 Mouse Creek Road in Charleston, Tennessee. We then moved to several locations per Michael's request because he was living with me and paying monthly rent, which he felt was not an option due to the uncertainty of his job at Wacker Poly Plant.
We rented and lived in duplexes and apartment complexes, paying between $375 and $400 a week. I eventually left my job at Duracell because Michael said his job was ending soon, and he was moving back home. Michael then rented a home in Camden, SC, from Brock Realty at 156 Southern Oaks Dr. He was going through a divorce and had a child with Stephanie Dowey. I couldn't be listed on the rental agreement due to court restrictions.
Michael left Thompson Construction and was offered a job at VC Summer in Jenkinsville, SC. While living in Camden, he applied for a home loan through First Community Bank and was approved for a home at 110 Running Deer Rd, Blythewood, SC. We moved there in November 2016. I remodeled the entire home, cleared trees off the property, and took care of our children while Michael worked at VC Summer. About two years later, Michael was laid off, and we decided to do landscaping together while he searched for employment.
Michael was later offered a job at Crowder Construction. However, his house went into foreclosure in November 2019, and he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, listing my four children under his financial findings. We traveled between NC and SC for his job, staying in hotels and campgrounds. Eventually, Michael purchased a 5th wheel camper for us to live in, and I renovated it for our children. We moved frequently, staying in various cities.
In 2022, we moved back to 110 Running Deer Rd, and Michael started a welding business named Superior Welding and Fabrication. He was terminated from Crowder Construction on false allegations and began running his business from home. After a few months, he moved the business to a shop in Ridgeway, SC, but had to move back home due to issues with the property owner.
On 6/24/24, a judgment was placed against Michael and me for $200,000 due to a golf cart accident involving my minor child and Mrs. Weaver's child. We have since had execution of property and supplemental findings placed on the docket. Michael's home and assets were still secured through bankruptcy courts. I then started an agricultural farm, breeding and raising ducks for income. Michael supported me financially and helped with the farm.
In January 2025, I registered with the National Sebastopol Association and created a website, Fancy Featherhill. Michael purchased a $500 incubator for me, and we built a building and coop for the animals. However, in March 2025, Michael told me to leave with my children and belongings. I have applied for housing, government assistance, and jobs but have not been successful. Michael has since given me 10 days to leave the property.
I am desperately asking for help. I'm ashamed and embarrassed to do so, but I have no other options. I need to find a place for my family and my emotional support animals. I have applied for emergency housing and jobs, but I need financial support to move and start over. Please consider helping us during this difficult time.
