In less than a week, a neighborhood family lost their primary breadwinner and a loving partner and father.

After living in Silver Spring for 12 years and working hard to support his family, this father was taken by ICE and deported within just seven days. The family had almost no time to consult with a lawyer or prepare for what was happening.

He leaves behind his daughter, an 8th grader at Silver Spring International Middle School. She had only recently arrived in the United States—on her 14th birthday—hoping to finally be reunited with her father. After just a few short months together, she has now been separated from him again.

The family is devastated and misses their loved one terribly. On top of their grief, they are now facing serious financial challenges.

En menos de una semana, una familia de nuestro vecindario perdió de repente a su principal proveedor y a un querido esposo y padre.

Después de vivir en Silver Spring durante 12 años y trabajar arduamente para sacar adelante a su familia, este padre fue detenido por ICE y deportado en solo siete días. La familia casi no tuvo tiempo de consultar con un abogado ni de prepararse para lo que estaba ocurriendo.

Deja atrás a su hija, estudiante de 8.º grado en Silver Spring International Middle School.
