Help End the Suffering of Ahmed's Family in Gaza
Donation protected
My name is Sabrina Rebrab, and I am an Algerian living in Paris. I am organizing this fundraising campaign to support the family of my friend Ahmed Zaqout, who is currently in Gaza. I have known Ahmed for many years. We met each other in the UK at University. He is a kind, hardworking, and deeply compassionate person who loves and protects his family with all his heart. Sadly, his family is now facing an extremely difficult and dangerous situation, and I want to do everything I can to help them.
Ahmed’s family consists of 12 members, including his elderly parents:
• Yahya Abdelhay Zaqout (father)
• Sana Mohammed Zaqout (mother)
• Nour Yahya Zaqout
• Bisan Yahya Zaqout
• Bushra Yahya Zaqout
• Shahed Yahya Zaqout
• Layan Yahya Zaqout
• Qasam Yahya Zaqout
• Hannen Yahya Zaqout, her husband Tawfiq Awida, and their two children, Mohammed and Zain
This campaign is entirely dedicated to helping Ahmed’s family survive the current crisis, access urgent medical care, secure safe shelter, and, when possible, relocate to a place where they can live in safety and dignity. Every donation will go directly to Ahmed’s family, sent in full through secure bank transfers to ensure they receive the help they urgently need

Dear Friends,
I am a son, a brother, and a husband—and my heart is torn in two. My name is Ahmad Zaqout, and my family of 12 members including my parents and siblings is living through a chapter of life no one should ever have to endure. We come from Gaza, where the past 22 months have brought unimaginable loss, displacement, and fear.
One year ago, I lost my beloved sister and her 3 kids. I can still hear my mother’s voice breaking when she heard the news—a sound that will stay with me forever. Of all the pain and fear we have endured, that moment was the most unbearable. Since the beginning of this nightmare, my family has been forcibly displaced more than eight times — each time carrying our fear, grief, and exhaustion to yet another fragile shelter. My parents, elderly and unwell, are struggling to survive each day. The lack of food, clean water, and medicine has turned their suffering into a slow, relentless battle. We have exhausted every bit of our savings just to stay alive — buying what food and water we could find, and covering the costs of moving again and again in search of safety.
Three of my younger siblings are under 18, trying to grow up in a reality no child should face. They now live in a thin and fragile tent that offers no protection from the seasons. In winter, the freezing winds cut through their blankets, leaving them shivering through the night. In summer, the heat inside is suffocating, the air heavy and stifling. Drinking water is scarce and often unclean, leaving them thirsty and anxious about illness. Meals are small and rarely nourishing—just enough to quiet hunger, but never enough to bring back the strength they’ve lost. In the past three months, the cost of food has soared to impossible heights. The cost of 1 kilo of white flour reached 30$ and 1 kilo of tomatoes, if available, reached 45$. These prices are far beyond what we can afford.
My father holds a medical referral for urgent treatment, but under the current circumstances, such care is impossible to access. My younger brother once dreamed of studying medicine, but that dream is slipping away. My other siblings — once top students — have been forced out of school. Education is not a privilege; it is a right every child deserves.
Two of my brothers have escaped the war to Egypt and are working tirelessly to build a stable life. But every night, they sleep with the same thought: “Will we ever see our parents and siblings again?”. My brother tells me each morning he wakes with one wish: “To hold my parents, to be with my family, and to start a peaceful life together.”
Some organizations are working to evacuate families from conflict zones. When the right opportunity arises — one that ensures my family’s safety — we will take it. This campaign will help us be ready for that moment and survive until it comes. The money raised will be used for:
- Provide food, clean water, medicine for parents, and essential supplies for daily survival.
- Prepare for evacuation and cover the relocation costs.
- Secure housing, food, and essentials for a stable life abroad when the family relocates.
- Secure urgent medical treatment for my parents once they are able to relocate.
- Fund university education for my brother and school for the younger children.
My family has suffered enough. What we seek is not luxury—it is safety, dignity, and a chance to heal. I long for the day we can reunite in one safe place, and build a peaceful life together. If you can help—through a donation or by sharing our story—you will be giving us more than support. You will be giving us the gift of hope.
With all my heart,
Ahmed
