Dear friends, neighbors, and kind strangers,

We are raising emergency funds to help a mother and her four children leave an unsafe, dangerous situation and relocate to a safer place where they can start rebuilding their lives. For years this family has been living in a home with severe hazards and ongoing threats from an abusive person connected to the household. After repeated incidents — including serious injury, harassment, intimidation, and escalating threats — they have made the difficult decision to leave for good.

They have very little left: most of their belongings are damaged or unusable, they don’t have a reliable car, and their savings are far short of what’s needed for travel, housing deposits, and basic essentials. The mother has medical needs from recent injuries and the children are receiving counseling for trauma. They are asking for help to get themselves and the children safely out of state where they have family and can start over.

The money will help with travel, secure temporary housing upon arrival, first month’s rent + security deposit, basic furniture and bedding (many items are unusable), school supplies and moving assistance.

Why we need your help now: They must leave before an expected release date of the person who has been causing harm. Waiting is not an option — staying risks further violence and trauma.

Privacy & safety: To protect the family, we are not using their real names or exact locations in this campaign. Funds will be distributed through a trusted local agency or an approved third-party organizer who will coordinate with the family to ensure money reaches them safely.
