Help a family displaced by Fire at Little Earth
Donation protected
Near midnight on the night of Monday (March 4, 2024) a fire took the home of our friend and relative, Travis Bush. He and his daughters have been displaced and are receiving temporary housing aid from the Red Cross.
I’ve known Travis’s family for many, many years. He is our colleague at Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi, where his work focuses on climate justice and community stewardship. He is an excellent colleague and a good man; hard-working, caring, and persevering. He brings humor and strength to the work we do daily, and he spreads cultural wealth by lifting up others.
Travis is an amazing father and primary caregiver to his young girls Tashina and Bianca. On Monday night, he and the girls lost nearly everything. When Travis reached out to us, he said “me and the girls are safe and sound; the cat and my Mom’s books, too.”
The family could use our support to replace the many items destroyed and damaged in the fire and financial support during this transition to find new housing.
Pidamaya (thank you) for your love and care for our relatives.
