Help a Family Achieve a Young Man's American Dream

I started this page to help a friend in need. She and her husband, both retired teachers, sponsored a legal immigrant from Haiti to help him come to this country. With hard work and perseverance, they worked their way through the bureaucratic channels to finally bring him to America. He has since thrived and is working diligently to meet all of the requirements to take his oath of citizenship, spurred on by their love and support.

Then suddenly, the rules changed mid-stream. He and his sponsors now must hire an attorney and spend significant additional funds to ensure he is allowed to continue working to obtain citizenship in this country he wishes to call home. The unjustifiable threat of deportation looms large for no good reason. He has done nothing wrong, and he is not alone in this manufactured uncertainty.

If you can, please help these good people finish what they started and help this fine young man realize his dream. The goal is lofty, but it is the bare minimum needed to fight the injustice of his circumstance.
