Help a Domiciliary Carer Get a Safe Car for Her Family

Story

Hello, my name is Raheemat and I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart. I relocated to the UK in September 2022 with my husband and our three beautiful children, including our daughter who has cerebral palsy. Since arriving, life has been a whirlwind of challenges—from caring for my family, working long hours as a domiciliary carer, and trying to make ends meet, to keeping up with an ever-growing pile of debt and school fees (paid off now). I currently drive a “2002 Hyundai 2-door” which has become increasingly unsafe. The windows don’t roll down anymore, the roof leaks in the rain but that’s the only place air circulates, and it’s getting more stressful—especially because I am constantly on the road for work and hospital appointments. Just today, I had two fainting spells while driving between care calls because it was super hot. As someone who is responsible for other vulnerable people—and my own daughter, who needs constant medical appointments—I can’t afford to be unsafe behind the wheel. I’ve managed to save up twice in hopes of replacing the car, but each time, something came up—usually something urgent for the kids. My husband is working hard to keep up with rent and basic needs, and I’ve even had to cancel shifts to tend to my daughter’s needs, which affects our income further. Now, I am humbly asking for your help. I’m hoping to raise *£5,000**l to buy a used *Citroën C4 Picasso*—a safer, more practical vehicle for my work and family’s needs.
