Help Dr Diptendu Sengupta fighting Covid
Hi, I am Paromita (Romi) Biswas and I migrated with my husband, Shivaji (Shiv) to the UK from India in 1996 and been working in the NHS as doctors ever since.
I come from Calcutta, India, now known as Kolkata, India. As you know, the Coronavirus pandemic is causing havoc there currently and quite a few of our friends and relatives there has suffered and survived it.
Currently one of my classmates,Dr Diptendu Sengupta ,from my medical school is fighting Coronavirus for almost a month now. He is a
paediatrician and has medical insurance as India has primarily private healthcare. His savings and medical insurance has ran out now - he
has been shifted to the ITU a few days ago needing non-invasive ventilation - his right lung is damaged due to the pneumonia with the
virus. We are all sending whatever finances we can from here and from India but we are also trying to find out whether some more kind souls will be happy to donate for his medical expenses. As it is in India, I will collect the donations and send it to his wife to meet hospital bills.
Thank you all in advance for your help. May we all see light at the end of this seemingly never-ending tunnel.
