Hello
My name is Salman. I am a molecular biology scientist currently living in the United Kingdom while seeking asylum. Before my life was disrupted and I was forced to leave my home country, I spent many years studying science and working in research laboratories.
For years, I dedicated my life to scientific research, working in laboratories and contributing to projects related to biology and human health. Science has always been more than a career for me—it is my passion and the way I hope to contribute to the world.
Unfortunately, displacement forced me to leave behind the life and academic path I had worked so hard to build. Like many displaced scholars, I suddenly found myself starting over in a new country, facing uncertainty and limited resources.
Despite these challenges, I have not given up on my dream of continuing my academic journey.
Recently, I received an offer to study at the University of Bath, a respected university in the United Kingdom. This opportunity represents a crucial step in rebuilding the academic career that was interrupted when I had to leave my country. You can see the image of the offer in the campaign photos and updates.
However, because I am currently an asylum seeker in the UK, I do not have access to student loans or most forms of government financial support that many students rely on. This makes continuing my education extremely challenging without external help.
For me, obtaining this qualification is not only about academic progress—it is essential for rebuilding my life, securing stable employment in the future, and being able to live independently and contribute to society.
The funds raised through this campaign will support the essential costs required for me to continue my education:
• Tuition fees: £14,900
• IELTS preparation and exam costs: £400
• Accommodation and basic living costs during my studies: £12,000
Total goal: £27,300
While the total amount may seem large, every contribution helps move me closer to continuing my education. Even a small donation can make a meaningful difference, and many small contributions together can make this opportunity possible.
This support will allow me to focus on rebuilding my academic career, continuing my education, and contributing meaningfully to the scientific community.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign with others can also help me reach people who may be willing to support my journey.
Your support will not only help a displaced scientist continue his education—it will help restore hope, opportunity, and the chance to build a future through science.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can provide.
Salman
