I've set up this GoFundMe up for my mother. I'm her daughter and full-time caregiver. My mom is a widow (we lost my dad in August 2024), and she is severely physically disabled. I live with Mom because she needs a lot of support and can't be left alone for long periods of time.

Late last month (August 2025), our HVAC unit died and it couldn't be fixed. This was confirmed by technicians from three separate AC companies. Living in Florida and it being the height of summer, this was pretty awful news.

We had to purchase a new unit, and central heat and air is, well, pricey. We took the lowest quote provided, which was $8500.

While Mom was fortunate enough to be able to put the purchase on a credit card, paying it off is going to be difficult. She is on a fixed income from Social Security and we currently do not have another income stream. This is causing her a lot of distress that's translating into physical issues (such as blood pressure spikes and dizziness).
