Hi there, I'm a queer, disabled trans woman in her 40s who was laid off over a year ago. I've been getting disability for significant mental and physical impairments, which included a stroke and six weeks of psychiatric in-patient care. But now, my insurance provider, in part due to their own error in requesting records, is denying my claim.
Without this income, my wife and I risk losing our house and our car. Without our car we can't get anywhere (we don't have good public transit, plus I have mobility problems that makes taking it very difficult and risky), and without our home, amongst all the trauma of being foreclosed, we'd lose our cats.
Mentally, I would not survive this. I'm trying to get reinstated and find alternative income, but that takes time we don't have... so here I am begging. I know there are people with bigger problems in the world, but I'm not very stable and this will have dire and possibly terminal consequences for me. The amount I requested would keep us in home and vehicle for two months, but at this point anything at all helps.
We'll be eternally grateful for anything you can spare.
